Get the National Banking Holidays for the Current Calendar Year
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays for the year 2024. According to the list, banks in India will be closed for a total of 14 days, including Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.
State and Month-Wise Regional Bank Holidays
In addition to the national bank holidays, there are also state-specific and month-wise regional bank holidays. For example, banks in Maharashtra will be closed on May 1, 2024, for Maharashtra Day, while banks in Tamil Nadu will be closed on January 15, 2024, for Pongal.

The Negotiable Instruments Act specifies certain holidays that are observed by banks in India. These holidays include Republic Day, Independence Day, Diwali, and Christmas. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is observed as a bank holiday.
